Quit Tobacco

Solano County Tobacco Prevention and Education Program (TPEP) provided tobacco cessation information and quit smoking/chewing tobacco services in Solano County for nearly 18 years. Unfortunately, there is no longer funding for cessation classes. However, there are many ways to get help to stop smoking including online programs and over the phone counseling. There are some classes and workshops offered in Solano County as well as Nicotine Anonymous support groups. Please see the Cessation Resources list below.

Smokers' Helpline

Free, stop smoking counseling is available in many languages by calling the California Smokers' Helpline.  Stop smoking counselors will work with your schedule to set up appointment times to talk with you by phone to help you quit. Their phone lines are open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You may leave a message Sunday. Call for help today or visit the website:

  • English: 1-800-NO-BUTTS
  • Spanish: 1-800-45-NO-FUME
  • Smokeless Tobacco: 1-800-844-CHEW

Cessation Resources

Quit tobacco resources are available for teens and adults. Choose from group classes, telephone quit lines, or web-based programs:

80% of California's adult smokers want to quit;
40% intend to quit in the next month.
